Little Everyday Things That Inspire Me…

A ladybug has come to me during special times like in March of this year on my birthday on a cold rainy day at the dog park. (here is the picture I took of her, do you see the heart on her back?) More recently, last month  I was outside varnishing art and preparing for my first solo pop up show in July and a ladybug crawled on almost every piece of art I had on the table.

During the sad time of losing my mom in 2020, I began finding heart shaped rocks on my walks almost daily.

Little everyday things speak to me and often find their way into my art.   I love my dogs and beautiful flowers, so I paint them often. I also love birds. I have always found heart shaped rocks off and in in my life and also found little miracles of nature come to me at very meaningful times. In the past cardinals, blue jays, ladybugs, dragonflies, rainbows, white feathers, crosses and sand dollars have seemed to bring me spiritual messages of comfort and hope.  In the 2 weeks before her passing, I found a single white feather on my walks almost every day.  For this reason many of these elements can be found in my art along with bold and vibrant colors. Color makes my heart sing and I can’t imagine life without bright happy color. I often wake up from a vivid dream of certain color combinations.

Little Everyday Morning Routine

I have a daily morning routine of prayer, bible study and journaling that gives me inspiration and strength for each day and keeps me centered and intentional about life and my art. I love drinking my black coffee each morning and that alone, is a miracle story that I would love to tell you about someday!!

Morning Quiet Time

I really try to let go of my fears and worries each morning during that time and I try to get out and exercise by walking the dogs in this beautiful place I live every day. I want my heart to stay in tune with my purpose for being here and not get so caught up on the minute mundane details of life, that I forget the bigger picture.
